Throughout an international music career of almost three decades, Rod MacDonald has remained a vital force in the folk music world. With his unique eclectic brand of music that transcends the typical folk genre, he has performed at many of the finest clubs, coffeehouses and major festivals in the U.S. and abroad. As distinctive an entertainer as he is a songwriter, his engaging delivery, musical versatility, timeless ballads and modern folk songs place him in the elite of singer-songwriters performing in North America today.

Approaching the genre differently from most contemporary singer-songwriters, his "protest" songs are non-judgmental narratives that rather invite his audiences to draw their own conclusions. All Music Guide writes that Rod is "... one of the most politically and socially aware lyricists of our time."
In his trademark balladeer style, Rod weaves together a tapestry of journalistically insightful lyrics and poetic imagery offering up compelling, entertaining, thought-provoking - and often delicious satirical commentaries. And when his target is politics, he is at his wittiest...
